Statistics: Producers’ prices for gasoline rise 19% in Russia May

MOSCOW, Jun 19 (PRIME) -- Producers’ prices for gasoline in Russia jumped by 18.7% on the month in May and for diesel fuel by 13%, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement Tuesday.

The fuel prices grew rapidly in April and May. The government had to cut excises on gasoline and diesel fuel, and agreed with the largest oil companies to fix prices at the level as of May 30 while the government works on measures to support the industry.
